Directions to Harris Health Center
in East Providence
If you
live in East Providence, a simple lookover of the map should give you an
easy idea how to get to us. To
the North and to the East is Seekonk. To the South is Riverside. To the
West is the city of Providence.
Even if
you’re not familiar with East Providence or this specific area in
general, rest assured that the street design and traffic flow are actually
a marvel to this day considering the ease of traffic flow especially since
most of these roads actually predate most any structures in the area.
We are
located near the convergence of 3 main roads that create 6 corners as you
can see in the ‘Bow Tie’ or ‘Butterfly’ design in
the map below. Each triangle
(or circles in effect) within the design is located on the east or west
side of Broadway and Most Importantly Consist of One Way Streets. In the map below, streets tined red
are one ways and streets tinted green are two ways.
On the
West side of Broadway you can see Taunton Ave / Route 44, Waterman Ave, and
John Street form a Triangle. On
the East side of Broadway you can see that Taunton Ave / Route 44, Waterman
Ave, and Hall Street effectively form another Triangle. You could travel
around endlessly in each triangle or around the perimeter of the ‘Bow
Tie’ design.
Harris Health Center is located on
the corner of Broadway and Whelden Avenue which is on the west side of Broadway that is also situated
on an additional Triangle of one way streets that are: Taunton Avenue /
Route 44, Broadway, and Whelden Avenue.

Directions from Providence:
Take I-195
and exit on Taunton Avenue / Route 44 (I-195 exit 4 )
and bear left on the exit ramp towards Taunton Ave / Route 44. Continue
along Taunton Ave / Route 44 eastwardly and be sure to turn Right on to
Broadway. Then Turn Right on Whelden Avenue.
Our parking lot and ramp access is located on the left on Whelden Avenue. (You can also park on Broadway in front
of the building if you would prefer to use our Front Entrance.)
Directions Back to Providence from
Harris Health Center:
If you
parked on Broadway facing south, continue on Broadway until you see the
entrance ramp for I-195 on the Left after the Fire station which is
approximately 1 mile.
If you
parked in our parking lot or on Whelden Avenue,
follow Whelden Avenue (one way west), turn Right
on to Taunton Ave / Route 44, then turn Right again on to Broadway heading
south. Continue on Broadway
until you see the entrance ramp for I-195 on the Left after the Fire station
which is approximately 1 mile.
Rest
assured, once you have found our ‘hidden gem’ on the map below,
you will find it very easy access from any direction.
